i've got a friend who seems laugh in the face of mr. sandman / mountain dew runs through his veins / his sleep schedule no short of insane / he's got a punisher skull on his car which he drives late at night / to his job at the bakery / he's always awake more than me / he's so much more hardcore than me / but at a certain point, there's no escaping it / the caffeine's just not making it / i can't fight off these tugging hands any longer / put on my jammies, take off my hat / hop in the sack there's no turning back / can't you see my eyelids drooping? / it's sleepytime / it's five in the morning, a sliver of warning / just told me to cut the lights / can't you hear my parents snoring? / it's sleepytime / my alarm starts its scream interrupting my dream / take a shower, put my hat back on, head up to the MSP / take my seat, take some notes / recognize the prominent irrelevancy / despite the fact that i got my eight / this boredom seems to decompensate / i'm falling into that ever-common trance-like state / but at a certain point there's no escaping it / no amount of coffee would ever be making it / i can't fight off these tugging hands any longer / zip-up my hoodie, relax my back / head on my desk, there's no turning back / the teacher is so damned boring / it's sleepytime / this lecture is crap it's time for a nap / with my books in a stack, on top goes my hat / a design-scheme near perfection / it's sleepytime / sick and tired / being awake / doldrum, ho-hum / time for a break / fifteen minutes, all i will take / screw it, screw you / i'm going to sleep
